Bandar Seri Begawan, October 2021 — YCP Solidiance is proud to have worked with ASEAN to develop the Consolidated Strategy on the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), which was endorsed by the 10 country leaders at the 20th AEC Council Meeting, part of the 2021 ASEAN Summit, last October 26, 2021.
Developed by our professionals in the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaysia in partnership with industry experts, the Consolidated Strategy on the 4IR embraces a unified and cross-pillar approach in identifying the opportunities that the Fourth Industrial Revolution would bring to ASEAN members countries. It further explores three main focus areas in harnessing technology and embracing innovation for ASEAN citizens:
- Technological Governance and Cybersecurity: envisioning a digital ASEAN that is open, secure, transparent, and connected
- Digital Economy: a digital ASEAN that harnesses technology to build a resilient, inclusive, integrated, and globally competitive economy
- Digital Transformation of Society: a digital ASEAN that embraces innovation in transforming society, and contributes to social progress and sustainable development.
The development of the Consolidated Strategy is in line with the ASEAN Comprehensive Recovery Framework (ACRF), which was adopted in 2020 and created to help the region recover from the impact of COVID-19.
The Fourth Industrial Revolution, as outlined in the Consolidated Strategy, offers ASEAN citizens the opportunity to be better connected, empowering them to improve their livelihoods through digitalization, and helps economies grow and become more competitive.
